Kim Soren Hatch

Oct. 25, 1950 - Nov. 26, 2017

Date of Service: Nov. 30, 2017

BURLEY – Kim Soren Hatch, a 67-year-old Burley resident, peacefully surrendered his disabled mortal body on Sunday, Nov. 26, 2017, at his lifelong home in Burley.

Kim was born Oct. 25, 1950, in Burley, Idaho, to Hazen and Gertrude Christensen Hatch. When Kim was born he had cerebral palsy which left him totally crippled. However, that did not stop him from having experiences throughout his life that many people will never experience. He has been from sea to shining sea; has traveled through many of these United States along the way and visited many notable historical sites. He has flown in an airplane all by himself and several times with company. His parents were members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and he was raised under that influence. His upbringing, however, wasn’t done solely by his parents, there were many people along the way who helped – family, friends, church members, and some wonderful care givers.

Kim is survived by his two sisters, Amaryllis Winn (Jerry) of Burley, and Ann Lee Owens-Allred (Byron) of Burley; and one brother, Marshall Hatch (Sherry) of Benton City, Washington.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – Burley West Stake Center, located at 2420 Parke Ave., with Bishop Ty Jones officiating. A short graveside ceremony will follow the service at the Pleasant View Cemetery in Burley, where Kim will be laid to rest next to his parents.

Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, at Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
