Date of Service: Dec. 11, 2017

RUPERT – Florence Faye Rasmussen, our mother, wife, sister and friend, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017, after a series of health issues.

Faye was born Aug. 19, 1943, in Rupert, Idaho, to parents, Joseph Mansfield West and Florence Fay Gentry. She attended schools in Minidoka County and graduated from Minico High School in 1961. She married Dennis Herbold in 1964 and together they raised three daughters, Suzette, Laura, and Angela. Faye and Dennis later divorced in 1984. Faye married Ron Rasmussen in 1985 and they lived in Rupert until the time of her death.

Faye loved her family dearly, specifically her four grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and extended family. Faye was known as a wonderful seamstress, hostess and cook. She enjoyed traveling with Ron to visit family and friends. She also enjoyed working in her beautiful yard and vegetable garden and in her later years she loved watching golf. She never allowed anything to interfere with her viewing a PGA golf tournament on a Sunday afternoon.

She is survived by her husband, Ron, of Rupert; her daughters, Suzette (Johnny) Miller, Laura (Mark) Muzatko, and Angela (Aaron) Butcher. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Taylor Muzatko, Kody Miller, Madison Muzatko, and Kate Butcher; her sister, Bonnie West; brother-in-law, LaVell Ferrin; and sister-in-law, Alta West. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Louise Ferrin; and brother, Paul West.

Faye was well loved and touched the lives of all who crossed her path. She will be missed by many and remembered by all who were blessed to be a part of her life.

The family would like to thank the many wonderful friends who have reached out to express kindness and offerings of support.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Paws 4 Hope Animal Rescue, in Rupert, in honor of Faye.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 11, at Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, where friends and family may call from 5 until 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Burial will be in Rupert Cemetery.
