Dell Carlson

BURLEY – Dell Reed Carlson, a 73-year-old resident of Burley, passed away Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018, at his home.

Dell was born September 28, 1944, in Rexburg, Idaho, the son of Reed and Reva Jean Harris Carlson. He attended Parker Elementary in Parker, Idaho, and then attended South Fremont High School in nearby St. Anthony. On July 8, 1983, Dell married his sweetheart, Betty Louise Elison, in Malta, Idaho, which union was later solemnized in the Logan Utah Temple. Together they raised three sons.

Dell was a skilled carpenter and used this trade along with his strong work ethic to provide for his family. In addition to being a dedicated provider, he was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Dell was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; his three sons, Kim Dell (Wanda) Carlson of Menan, Idaho, Dustin Dell (Dusty) of Burley, and Dallan Doc (Melissa) of Albion; his sister, Tawna (Bob) Bauer of St. Anthony; brother, Joe (Chris) Carlson of Ammon, Idaho; and sisters, Myalin (Duff) Gilman of Soda Springs and Raschell (Bob) Dekoekkoek of Rexburg; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Linda (Kern) Crump of Springdale, Cindy (Richard) Ward of Malta, and Edith (Rick) Wrigley of View.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Lonny Carlson; and one sister, Karen McNee; father and mother-in-law, Elmo and Louise Elison.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 12, at Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley. Burial at the View Cemetery will follow the service with military rites being performed by the Mini-Cassia Veterans Organization.

Viewing times will be held at the funeral home from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, January 11, and one hour prior to the funeral service.
