Lila Jean Facer

Our Mother, Lila “Jean” Anderson Facer, 88, of Gooding, Idaho, passed away on March 11, 2019, from natural causes, surrounded by her family.

She was born at home on the 2nd of August 1930, to Ernest Nephi and Ivy Mathias Anderson, in Bear River, Utah. She attended school at Bear River Elementary and Box Elder High, where she meet the love of her life, Max Prior Facer. They dated until Max enlisted in the Navy, but kept in contact by letter. They started dating again after he was discharged, and were married November 29, 1946. (Later sealed in the Twin Falls Idaho Temple).

The couple farmed in Utah, until 1959, when they, along with their five children, homesteaded a farm north of Rupert, Idaho. Jean resided on the farm until 2013. She often referred to herself as the unofficial “Farm Queen”.

Besides helping on the farm, she worked at Simplots, Banty Variety, and Jane’s Clothing. She loved cooking, baking, making pies, crocheting, bowling, and enjoying time with the family, especially the grand and great-grand children, they brighten her life. She also liked dancing, country music, Lawrence Welk, and Molly B Polka shows. She was a pretty good tap dancer in her early years.

Jean was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, holding callings in Primary, Mutual and Relief Society. She ministered to others by sharing her baked goods and handy work.

After 63 years of marriage, her husband Max passed away at home where she had been caring for him. After several years of living alone, she moved to Gooding Idaho, to be closer to her family, where she resided until her death.

She is survived by the children: Beverly (Lew) Jones, Shirlee (Galen) Adams, Julie (Max) Graham, Douglas Facer, and Cindy (Rusty) Gillette. Along with by her brother, Robert “Bob” (Reva) Anderson, brother-in-law, Harvey (Cindy) Facer, sisters-in-law, Donna Booth, and Karen (Fred) Owen.

She has a Legacy of 23 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
She’s preceeded in death by her husband; parents; one sister, Deniece Barker; and brothers, Ernest, Donald, and Byron Anderson.

A visitation for friends and family will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Sunday, March 17, at Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley.

The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 18, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – Gooding chapel, located at 1228 Main St., in Gooding, where a visitation for friends and family will be held at 9:00 am prior to the service. A graveside service will be held at 5:00 pm that afternoon at the Willard Cemetery, located at 470 N. Main, Willard, Utah.

“Our cute little redhead has gone to dance the polka with her cowboy man”. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
