PAUL – Bonnie Jean Schrock, a 91-year-old resident of Paul, passed away Friday, May 31, 2019, at Cassia Regional Hospital.

She was born Sept. 20, 1927, in St. John, Kansas, the daughter of Charles Henry and Florence Ida Foster Hathaway. She received her education in Paul and graduated from Paul High School. She married Earnest Neilson and, together, they had two children, Michael and Brenda. Following the death of Earnest, she later married Ed Schrock; he also preceded her in death.

Bonnie’s professional career was in retail sales where she worked for Safeway Grocery, King’s Department Store and J C Penney. However, her passion was that of homemaker. She loved to bake and was well-known for her beautiful cake decorating skills. She was an outstanding seamstress and during her younger years enjoyed gardening and working in her flower beds.

She is survived by her son, Michael (Carole) Neilson of Mesquite, Nev.; a daughter, Brenda Zapien of Modesto, Calif.; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and one brother, Cecil “Pete” (Donna) Hathaway of Pocatello.

In addition to her husbands, Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Herb Hathaway, Russell Hathaway, Ruth Dickinsen, Palmer “Bud” Hathaway, Edith Sorenson, Ethel Lowry, Charles “Doc” Hathaway, Ralph Hathaway and Dorothy Wright.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 8, at Paul United Methodist Church, 127 W. Clark St., with the Rev. David L. Madden officiating. Burial will be in Paul Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday, June 7, at Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, and at the church on Saturday, one hour prior to the service.
