Sep. 9, 1925 - Jul. 20, 2019

Date of Service: Jul. 26, 2019

BURLEY – Nadine Nevelle Christensen “Deanie”, age 93, returned to her Savior on July 20, 2019.

Nadine was born on September 9, 1925, in Burley, Idaho, to Roy and Bertha Owings Hunt. She married her husband, Bernard “Bunny” Christensen, in 1950, and they had one son, David. Deanie graduated in 1944, from Burley High School, and went on to attend Northwest Christian College and Mt. San Antonio College where she received her nursing degree. Deanie resided in Covina, California for 40 years and passionately took care of her patients at Intercommunity Medical Center. Deanie retired in 1987, and spent winters in Quartzite, Arizona, with family, and summers in Burley, with her sister, Bernice Booth.

Deanie loved Ragtime music, as her husband Bunny was a professional piano player. She also loved being in the outdoors enjoying the sun and nature. She especially loved hearing the croaking of frogs and the other sounds of the outdoors. Deanie could be found most times with her tool box of essentials fixing something or nursing someone back to health. She gave back to others without hesitation and loved deeply.

Deanie moved to Boise in 2015, to Chateau de Boise, and met a great circle of friends who had the time of their lives. Thank you to Erma, Marilyn and Doris for making her time there so fun and memorable. Deanie resided at Copper Springs in Meridian the last year-and-a-half, and was lovingly cared for by many of the staff, especially Stacy.

Deanie was predeceased by her husband, Bunny; infant son, David; her parents, Roy and Bertha; sisters, Mildred Hunt, Elaine Pike Drew, Bernice Booth; and brothers, Robert and Lowell Hunt. She was also predeceased by her sister-in-law, Roxanna Hunt; brother-in-law, George Booth II, Gaylord Pike, John E. Drew; as well as two special nephews, Gayle B. Pike and George Booth III; and niece, Leann Ham.

Deanie is survived by her two nieces, Carolyn Booth, and Diana Quanstrom, whom she called the “loves of her life”; her sister-in-law, Lue Hunt; and various nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday July 26, at the Pleasant View Cemetery, located at 1645 E. 16th St., in Burley.

Service arrangements have been placed in the care of Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home of Burley.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Burley First Christian Church, 1401 Oakley Ave., Burley, Idaho 83318, (208) 678-2462
