Margaret D. "Marge" Roe

Aug. 7, 1938 - Oct. 19, 2019

Date of Service: Oct. 24, 2019

Margaret “Marge” Roe

BURLEY – Margaret D. “Marge” Roe, an 81-year-old Burley resident, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2019, at her home, due to congestive heart failure.

Marge was born August 7, 1938, in Lexington, Nebraska, to Frank & Leona Adams. Her parents later divorced, but she continued to live on the family farm with her dad, who later married Jo Barth.

In 1955, Marge married Vern Roe. For two years they lived in Hawaii, where their daughter, Vickie was born. When Vern completed his service in the U.S. Army, they settled in California, where their son, Edward, was born. In 1968, they moved to Albion because of Ed’s Asthma. In Albion, his Asthma was much improved, allowing him to play football and basketball; unfortunately, due to unforseen circumstances later that year, Ed was killed in an accident while saving the lives of thousands of others.

Marge worked for Cassia National Bank, then for Boise Cascade, from which she retired after 32 years of service.

Marge is survived by her daughter, Vickie Drury; step-daughter, Cindy Abernon; granddaughter, Shawna Valdez; grandson, Robert H. Adams III; and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Vern; and step-son, Tony Roe.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, at the Burley United Methodist Church, located at 450 E. 27th St., in Burley, with Pastor Kenneth Haftorson officiating. A visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home of Burley.
