June Ann Mortensen Hodge

BURLEY – June Ann Mortensen Hodge, our loved mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, passed from this existence from cancer on Saturday, November 23, 2019, in Burley, Idaho.

She was born in Quincy, Washington, October 3, 1955, to Lois Gunderson Mortensen Saxton and Donald K Mortensen. She was preceded in death by her father and a beloved brother, Brent Mortensen.

She has ten brothers and sisters, Linda Turney (Blake, deceased), Utah, Bruce (Kathy) Mortensen, Utah, Dennis Mortensen, Idaho, Loren (Paula) Mortensen, Utah, Monty (Teresa) Mortensen, Idaho, Mark (Brenda) Mortensen, Idaho, Risa (Reed) Stoddard, Idaho, Brent Mortensen (deceased), Jeannie Parkinson, Utah, and Trina (Ray) Kissel, New York. She has eight children, Jake (Sarah) Pollard, Utah, Lauren Hodge, Utah, Shelby Hodge, Minnesota, Cassidy (Mike) Donaldson, Minnesota, Aarel Hodge, Minnesota, Solon Simpson, Washington, Dashiell (Talon) Brown, Nevada, and Quinn (Benjamin) Kania, New York. She also has 15 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

June was and is a valiant member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her many interests and talents included much research in early childhood education with an emphasis in teaching little children in a fun and creative way. June loved sports including soccer and baseball. Her sense of humor was rich.

We look forward to the time where we meet again.

The family appreciates the many angels that have helped June these past few months in so many ways. We are so grateful for you all.

A time of remembrance and sharing of memories will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 2, at Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, followed by a graveside service at 12 noon at Declo Cemetery.
