Susan A. Clarke

BURLEY – Susan A. Clarke, a 63-year-old resident of Burley, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2020, at her home.

Susan was born to Francis and Lyle Fairchild on October 18, 1956. As a child she enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting with her parents and her siblings. That continued throughout her life. She attended school in the Mini-Cassia area where she graduated from Minico High School in 1976. A year later she welcomed her daughter Peggy Fairchild to the world.

In 1998, Susan found her soul mate Paul Clarke and they married in October of that year.
Susan spent many years working at Simplot in Burley. After retiring from Simplot she worked at Migrant Head Start. Her final years were spent as her mother’s caregiver. Susan was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She is survived by her husband, Paul, of Burley; daughter, Peggy Freer (Bill) of Nyssa, Oregon; sister, Sheila Mares of Burley; brother, Boyd Fairchild of Bowling Green, Missouri; grandchildren, Hunter, Bocephus and Tatum Freer; very special nieces, Saddi and Candace Fairchild, as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins and family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Robert Fairchild; and two grandsons, Michael Winnett and Titus Freer.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, at the Oakley-Basin Cemetery. The service will be held in compliance with state-mandated social distancing practices.

Services have been placed in the care of Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home of Burley.
