Robert (Bob) Dale Mendenhall

Sep. 18, 1957 - Sep. 9, 2020

On Wednesday, September 9, 2020, Robert (Bob) Dale Mendenhall passed away in his home at the age of 62.

Bob was born on September 18, 1957, in Burley, Idaho. From birth he was a trouble maker with a heart of gold.

Bob had many interests but a few of his true passions included talking about the weather, eating food, talking about food, planning what food he would eat next and watching “the races.” He loved watching old westerns and had a soft spot for animals – especially his cats, Breezy and Lucky. He loved to fish and was a master asparagus hunter, but what he really loved was drinking beer. He had an uncanny gift for pushing people’s buttons and somehow everyone still loved him the same. Bob loved his friends and family and was loyal to a fault. There is nothing he wouldn’t do or give to someone in need if it was within his power to do so.

He was stubborn and couldn’t be told what to do – ever! He had a mischievous grin and was a handsome devil from the day he entered this earth until the day he left it. He was a huge pain in the butt, but he was our pain in the butt and he will be missed dearly.

Bob was preceded in death by his nephew, Jesse; and his youngest son, Daniel. He is survived by his parents, Larry and DeAnn Mendenhall; his siblings, Debbie Jansen (Chris), Christie Mitchell (Curt), Kevin Mendenhall and Ron Mendenhall; his children, Mindi Welty (Eric) and Michael Mendenhall (Emily); as well as seven grandchildren, with one more on the way.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Saul and Monica Gonzales for the years of friendship and taking such great care of him in the end. He was blessed to have you as were we.

Cheers to you, Bob!

Condolences for Robert (Bob) Dale Mendenhall

My favorite moment from Bob was the night that Jessie was born, we were all leaving the hospital from visiting with Christy all got on the same elevator down about halfway through the ride there is a stench in the elevator and which just cause everybody to gag from the smell after unloading from the elevator turned around and there stands Bob with this s*** eating grin on his face and he replies I've been waiting my whole life to do that only Bob

From Brandon S.:
Everyone has an Uncle Bob. No family is complete without one. Just ask anyone who has one. They have a special character that makes you laugh, scratch your head, scream and yell, and then be blown away by their compassion. They are...confusing. Uncle Bob was this and so much more. So much so, the family wrote a song about him entitled "Big, Bad, Burly, Bob." Believe me, its a classic. Bob, you will always remain in our thoughts...just stay out of my dreams ;-)
From Jeff and Christine poole:

From Shorty Ramos:
I have never been a loss for words but to loose my dear friend Bob has left me speechless. He was there when I needed him the most and will always be remembered for his generosity that he gave me and so many others. He was really a true friend and a brother to me. I will never forget the great times that we had raising hell. We shared many times of laughter and fun and were there for each other in times of sorrow. He had my back and would go out of his way for others in time of need. He will be truly missed by me and so many others. His home will forever be known as the Pit Stop for me and the many bikers who would stop by and have a few beers and share many stories and good times. His door was always open and was always there to lend a helping hand. Fly high with the angels my friend until we see each other again.
