OAKLEY – Eva Loetta Dicus Bell, a 79-year-old resident of Oakley, went back to her Father in Heaven on Monday, March 8, 2021.
Eva was born in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, September 26, 1941, to Mark D. Dicus and Marian E. Wheeler Dicus. She graduated high school in Bonners Ferry and attended Beauty college. After college she met her dreamboat in Oregon, while she was cooking for one of the ranch hands. Her cooking was so good that Gene Bell from Oakley, Idaho married her. After they married in eastern Oregon, they moved to Elko, Nevada, and from there they lived in various other places. In 1985, she and Gene moved to Oakley to work on a ranch at Goose Creek for W.B. Whiteley. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Twin Falls Temple in 2017.
Eva had many callings in her life. She was very involved in her church and community. She was known best for her cooking and embroidering baby bibs and pillow cases for all her family and friends.
Eva loved kids; she loved to give them candy at church. The kids always gave her hugs, which she loved so much. She loved to go shopping with her friends. Eva had a special relationship with many people. She will be greatly missed by all. What a lady!
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene; her parents and grandparents; her brother-in-law, John; and sister-in-law, Mary Jo Cooper.
She is survived by a brother, Everett Dicus of San Jacinto, California.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 16, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – Oakley Stake Center, located at 424 N. Center Ave., in Oakley. Burial will follow at the Oakley Cemetery.
Friends and family will be received at the church in Oakley from 5 until 7 p.m. Monday, March 15, and from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, preceding the funeral service at the church.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home of Burley.
