Gary Lee Waters

BURLEY – Gary Lee Waters, age 78, of Burley, passed away Monday, May 24, 2021, at his home in Burley.

Gary was born January 6, 1943, in Rupert, Idaho, the son of Dean Leon Waters and June Boldt Waters. He graduated from Burley High School, the class of 1961, then married Ranae Steiner, and together they had two children, Kent and Julie. They later divorced. He married Linda Osterhout Palmer Grimsman in 1987, and gained four more children from this union.

Gary spent many years farming and then later drove truck for Handy Truck Lines before retiring. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping, four-wheeling with friends and family, and meeting his friends for coffee every morning.

Gary is survived by his wife of 34 years, Linda; children, Kent (Shelly) Waters of Twin Falls, Julie (Ryan) Shull of Twin Falls, JoDee (Brian) Adams of Henefer, Tami (Brad) Hutchison of Malta, Trent (Clara) Grimsman of Heyburn, and Kenny Grimsman of Rupert; his mother, June Waters; sister, Kaye Quesnell of Burley; 18 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dean Waters; brother, Leon Waters; father-in-law, Kenneth Osterhout; and mother-in-law, Melba Osterhout.

Gary’s life will be celebrated with an informal gathering for family and friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, June 3, at Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley.
