PAUL – Harley Eugene Cox, a 76-year-old resident of Paul, passed away Friday, Nov. 19, 2021, at St. Luke’s Boise Medical Center.

He was born May 6, 1945, in Swinton, Mo., the son of Warren Otto and Nina Mae Benfield Cox. He graduated from Burley High School and subsequently served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War where he was stationed in Germany as an MP.

Harley married the love of his life, Charlotte Poulton, on March 21, 1989 in Paul by Mayor M. Gene Hansen.

By profession, Harley was a truck driver and had worked at various places with this employment at Magic Valley Foods and later with Darren Day, which was his last. He lived in numerous places with Paul being the place he called home.

He loved to polish the chrome on his truck and keep it spotless. He collected guns and enjoyed learning about the Civil War and collecting its memorabilia.

Harley was a great husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is loved dearly by his girls, Charlotte, Penny, Corinna, and Sammie.

Survivors include his wife, Charlotte, of Paul; four daughters, Penny Laughlin of Heyburn, and Kammy (Casey) Nisle of Texas; and Kenna (Vic) Watson of Burley; his siblings, Dennis Bolinger of Brady, Texas, Jim (Carol) Long of Springdale, Ark., Ron (Teresa) Bolinger of Llano, Texas, Kim (Eddie) Deeds of Mineral Wells, Texas, Randy Bolinger, Chris Bolinger of Llano, Texas, and Renee (Terry) Mathews of Mineral Wells, Texas; Brenda (Galen) Bingham of Boise; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Warren Otto Cox; mother, Nina Benfield Cox; and stepmother, Alvita Cox; and daughter, Tina Cox.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, at Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home, located at 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, where family and friends will be received from 5 until 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 29, and from 10 until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service on Tuesday. Officiating will be M. Gene Hansen. Burial will follow at Paul Cemetery with military rites provided by the Mini-Cassia Veterans Group.
