Clayton Ray Taylor

Jan. 29, 1951 - Jan. 13, 2022

Date of Service: Jan. 22, 2022

ALMO – Clayton Ray Taylor, a 70-year-old Almo resident, passed away Thursday, January 13, 2022, in Burley.

Clayton Ray Taylor (Twister) passed away peacefully at his daughters home on January 13th at the age of 70. He was born on January 29th, 1951, in Burley, Idaho to Fred and Gladys Kirkpatrick Taylor. He was the youngest and only boy with three older sisters, Verna, Shirley and Vonda. He grew up on a ranch in Moulton, Idaho just west of the City of Rocks.

He graduated from Raft River High School in 1970, and shortly after graduation he married Katherine Miller. Together they had one daughter and were later divorced. In 1980, he met his second wife, Clarissa Nelson and they were together for many years. They also later divorced but continued to be good friends.

He worked at many jobs like drilling wells, building fences and he would even say he was a rocket scientist as he worked at Thiokol in Utah. He was a jack of all trades and talented in many ways.

He was almost always mischievous and loved his many adventures with friends, riding his Harley, camping, and caring for his animals. He had numerous stories of all the adventures that he had been through and was always up for sharing and making people laugh with his witty sense of humor.

He is survived by his daughter, Sonya (Robert) Tamcke of Burley; sister, Vonda Hammer of Bountiful Utah; two grandsons; and two great grand-daughters. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred & Gladys Taylor; and sisters, Verna Ellis & Shirley Spencer.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 22, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – Almo Ward, located at 834 E. 2985 S., in Almo, with Bishop Doug Ward officiating. Burial will follow at Sunny Cedar Rest in Almo.

Family and friends will be received from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday, January 21, at Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, and from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Saturday preceding the service at the church.
